Parasitoid wasps Trichogramma brassicae as efficient natural enemies of the European corn borer
Parasitoid wasps Trichogramma brassicae as efficient natural enemies of the European corn borer
Parasitoid wasps Trichogramma brassicae are efficient natural enemies of the European corn borer. Being so-called egg parasitoids, Trichogramma brassicae wasps lay eggs in the eggs of a host insect (for example, European corn borers), killing the host inside the parasitoid. With timely application, a very high proportion of European corn borer eggs are parasitised and eliminated. TRICHOSAFE® reduces European corn borer populations below the level of economic damage.

Non-hatched beneficial Trichogramma are applied in several stages of development, which results in hatching periods of up to 3 weeks.
The product is available in two proven formats:
Both variants are biodegradable under field conditions, which makes them 100% eco-friendly. Without that protection, the beneficial Trichogramma would be exposed to egg predators and adverse weather conditions.
